Strength progress

Your progress, measured by strength

Lifting more weight doesn't always mean being stronger: 80 kg × 8 beats 85 kg × 3. GymOrbita compares your real sets and tells you, at a glance, whether you're progressing.

Stronger in 4 of 4 exercises, with the strength trend
3D body with the muscles you've trained
Sets per week and the period's records

Your estimated max on every exercise

From each set, the app estimates your 1RM, the weight you could lift just once, with the Epley formula: weight × (1 + reps / 30). That way it can compare sets with different weights and reps. For each exercise it takes your best estimate of each day and compares it with your best in the previous period.

«Stronger in 4 of 4 exercises»

At the top of Progress you get the short answer: in how many of your exercises you're stronger than before, with a chart of how your strength is trending. If an exercise stalls, you see it straight away.

All your training, in numbers

Pick the period (4 weeks, 12 weeks or 6 months) and it's all there:

  • Sets and volume per week, to see whether you're consistent and adding load.
  • Training days, on a calendar that lights up the days you went.
  • Streak: weeks in a row with at least one workout.
  • The period's records, with your weight before and now.
  • Body weight and how it changes, only visible to you.

The muscles you train, in 3D

A 3D body you can turn colours each muscle by the sets you give it each week, compared with the recommended amount: about 10 for big muscles, fewer for calves, traps or forearms. Tap a muscle to see its numbers. So you find out if you're forgetting one.

Every exercise, in depth

Open any exercise to see its full history: your top weight, your best set and the chart of how it has changed, per machine too if you use alternatives.

FAQ

What is an estimated 1RM?

The weight you could lift for a single rep, worked out from a set of several. GymOrbita uses the Epley formula and counts no more than 15 reps, where it stops being reliable.

Do I have to do one-rep sets?

No. The estimate comes from your normal sets; there's no need to test your max. If you want to work it out by hand, there's our 1RM calculator.

Can anyone else see my body weight?

No. Only you see your weight, age and height; not your coach, not your GymBros.
